< Previous© July 2017 The Meath Coaster40Cakes and BakesCakes and bakes are not just sinfully delicious treats; they are a passion, an experience, a story to be told, an excuse to catch up with an old friend and more. At Caoimhe’s Crumbles, we want to help you make memories for the special (or not so special but utterly deserving) occasions by adding the essence of a treat with CAKE! At Caoimhe’s Crumbles, we are dedi-cated to supplying the highest quality of homemade baking for every need, rede-fining the taste of REAL bakery products and untangling them from the commer-cial, highly synthetic shop-bought items. I, Caoimhe, have loved the art and science of baking from a very young age. So, I studied B.Hons Baking and Pastry Arts Management in DIT and founded Caoim-he’s Crumbles in August 2015. You may recognize the brand from local markets like The Cottage Market.Customised cakes and bakes are our spe-cialty. The list of options for celebratory cakes is constantly growing; any bake ideas will always be met with huge enthu-siasm. One of the newest offers includes additional keepsake cake toppers when ordering any celebratory cake.Caoimhe’s Crumbles saw an untapped market and in May 2016 began chil-dren’s classes. Baking is a fantastic skill for children to have, widening their tastes and growing their creativity. Each class consists of the children making and bak-ing various products by them-selves; aided by having preweighed ingredi-ents and, of course, putting their crea-tions into the oven. While waiting, chil-dren learn fine motor skills through making sugarcraft figures, such as minions, dogs, and more. Hour-long classes run on Thursdays and Saturdays for ages 5-8 and 9-12. Each child goes home with everything they have baked and made on the day includ-ing the recipe. Workshops and camps are also offered. For childrens special occasions, Cao-imhe’s Crumbles have created Cupcake and Cookie Decorating Parties! The party can take place in your own home or in the bakery school. Each child gets two cup-cakes and two cookies to decorate and bring home. On top of this a standard birthday cake is supplied in the packageOur final venture takes on a more adult sector (with a child option too!). This is Afternoon Tea in your own home. Caoim-he’s Crumbles can supply a delicous mix of afternoon tea bakes for your Afternoon Tea in the comfort of your own home. Children can feel grown up too with their own tea parties too.If you want to get a closer look into what’s on offer, visit the Facebook page www.facebook.com/caoimhescrumbles or instagram: @caoimhes_crumbles.Place orders and book places by mes-saging the facebook page or texting 0860518497. §© July 2017 The Meath Coaster41Adult Prize WinnersPictured above are Captain Denis Tay-lor and Club Professional Scott Kirk-patrick congratulate John Walsh who won the Professional’s Prize at Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club in May.Alan Mullen, winner of the East of Ireland Seniors event sponsored by Hibernia Steel Products Ltd. is presented with his trophy by club Captain Denis Taylor. Thankful-ly despite some really heavy rain on the day, we didn’t have one single child dissolve, and the rain certainly didn’t dampen any of their spirits. We kicked the day o with our academy kids taking to the eld for some 5-a-side fun and worked our way up through the age groups as the day progressed. With plenty of bouncy castles to keep the kids happy and plenty of hot coee and music provided by DJ Niall Bennett there was plenty of fun had by all despite the weather. The after-party continued in Moran’s of Mornington with a BBQ and DJ Niall keeping everybody dancing into the small hours in the marquee. Thanks to everyone involved and special thanks to Tesco and Pats of Bettystown.Pictured right with our Club Chairman and Droghe-da ETP Coach Mark Quinn are Ben Maguire, Femi Layaimo, Emmet Higgins and Craig Dunne who were all part of this years Kennedy Cup Squad with the Drogheda ETP. We were the largest represented Club at the tournament and by far the most vis-ible. We as a Club couldn’t have been any prouder of our boys and girls, each team played with pride, passion and commit-ment that was a joy to be part of. They were all extremely well behaved, respect-ful to other teams and coaches but above all they supported every game which felt like we had 2000 Laytownian’s with us instead of 200. And most importantly we made memories that will last a lifetime. We would like to extend our immense gratitude to Councillor Tom Kelly who has very kindly donated a Defibrillator to our club, Tom can be seen here presenting the Defibrillator to our Chairman Andrew Lennon.A Huge Thanks to Jimmy Gilna for our newest Jersey Sponsorship.
