< Previous© July 2017 The Meath Coaster50EST. 1950Adult footballersIt has been a quiet month for our senior footballers with no championship due to the fact that Meath have been playing. The lads have been training hard in prepa-ration for the next round against Ratoath. Date TBC.Our juniors however have made it two wins from two thanks to a 1 point win against Moynalvey in Skryne. The win leaves us in a great position to qualify for the ¼ finals. The lads have a bye for the next round and then face Walterstown next followed by Nobber in the final round. U17Well done to our U17 boys’ team who won their league final in Dunganny recently by beating St Olivers. A very tight first half left the game level at half time St.Patricks 2-06 St.Olivers 2-06.Started second half on the back foot when St.Olivers scored first four points however we fought back and a Tommy Flanaghan goal put us right in the mix and coming to the end of the game a goal from Ruairi Harkin put the game to bed. St.Patricks 4-09 St.Olivers 2-12.U16The U16’s had another good year by reaching the league final by beating a good Ratoath team in the Semi-final. Goals were a plenty in the first half Dara,Sean and Abdul with the goals to put us ahead St.Patrick 3-03 Ratoath 1-03.A very strong second half put the lads through to the final St.Patricks 4-13 Ratoath 3-08. Unfortunately the final was one game too much for the lads who were beaten by St Olivers 1-17 to 1-7. U14Well done to our U14 boys team on a great win over Moynalvey/Boardsmill which Cockhill Road, Stamullen, Co. MeathT: 086 1731739 E: pro.stpatricksmeath@gmail.comNaomh Padraig GAA© July 2017 The Meath Coaster51confirms a semi-final place with a game still to play. Led superbly by Captain Sean Baxter, the team won out 6-10 v 2-10. The win left the lads in a semi-final against Ballinabrackey, unfortunately it wasn’t to be for the lads who just lost out by a few points. It was a great year for the lads and the majority of this team are still U14 next year so there is pliantly to be optimistic about. Schools FinalsCongratulations to the boys of Whitecross NS who created history by completing a double of Cooney Cup and Cumann Na mBunscol Division 1 shield. There were plenty of young Pats men on show as the school collected its first silverware in these two competitions, captained by the incred-ible and hugely talented Oisin Black.First up on Friday at Pairc Tailteann, Whitecross beat Réalt Na Mara NS in a very entertaining game which they led from start to finish. Then on Saturday af-ternoon they took on the highly fancied St Paul’s NS from Ratoath in the big one, the Division One shield final of Cumann Na mBunscol. They completed a famous double to put Julianstown to the forefront of primary school football in Meath. These wins for Whitecross followed hot on the heels of Stamullen NS winning the Corn Cois Farraige final in fine style against Scoil Sporaid Naomh at Pairc Tailteann so good times all round for the children of our local primary schools. U9 HurlersFair play to the boys and girl from the U9 hurlers who made it over to Kildalkey on Saturday and played out a tough go games match in blistering conditions.U8’sOur Under 8’s now break for the summer (returning to training Wednesday August 9th at 7pm). The Team has made great progress over the term. Skill levels have grown and this has been noticeable with some wonderful go games performances against the likes of Ashbourne, Ratoath and Duleek while we gained some won-derful experience outside of Meath with challenge games away to Dublin Clubs: Garristown, Man O War and Ballyboden. Perhaps the biggest success of the term was the establishment of the Under 8’s Girls Team with over 20 Girls now play-© July 2017 The Meath Coaster52ing and matching the boys in numbers. The Club is extremely grateful to both Natalie and Rachel who have put in tre-mendous time and effort to get this up and running and more assistance would be welcome when we return in August. For further queries please contact (Girls Sec-tion) Natalie 0876549816 and (Boys Sec-tion) Adrian 0866046865.U7’sSome wonderful football displayed as our under 7’s overcame a very formida-ble opponent, with sheer talent and skill. The win was all the greater as this was our first real local derby. Thank you to all the parents who came out to support the team, thank you to Ciaran Fogarty (Mol-ly’s dad) for accepting the task of running from pitch to pitch to take some great pho-tos. Thank you to Fiona OBrien (Adam’s Mam) who in our hour of need stepped in to help with our games.U14 Ladies Pats LGFA hosted an intercounty U14 tournament on Saturday, June 10th. The 2 teams from Dublin were Erin’s Isle(Dublin Division 4 champions) and Ballyboughal(Dublin Division 3 runner-up). The 2 clubs from Louth were St Par-tick’s Lordship (Louth Divison 2 runner-up) and Glen Emmets Drogheda(3rd in Division 2). Meath represented by St Pats Stamullen.Parents, your daughters were brilliant today and were the only team to win all games. We were outstanding beating Er-ins Isle, Glen Emmets and St Pats(Louth) in the group stages and winning our final in fine style.A big thank you to those who brought re-freshments and a big thank you to Sarah Sullivan, Fiona O’Byrne, Fiona McDon-ald, Ger O’Byrne, Mick O’Connor and Donal Farrell for their help today and dur-ing the U14 league. That brings to an end this Under 14 girls league. Having only taken their first foray into Divison One at the start of this season to test the waters, St. Patrick’s won a deserved champion-ship victory by a single point. In their first year in Meath’s top tier, there are now five © July 2017 The Meath Coaster53of this team on the Meath under 12 squad.
