< Previous© January 2020 The Meath Coaster 10 Christmas sa Coláiste O ur annual Christmas sa Coláiste was held on Thursday, December 12 th . It was a fantastic evening featuring a range of Christmas favourites including as dál- taí from every year group performed on the night. There was also a Christmas market for the first time as a number of our Idirbliain mini-companies set up stalls on the evening to the joy of the Christmas shoppers in the crowd. A huge thank you to the Parents’ Association who assisted in organising and staging the event. Lady Gregory Project The Lady Gregory Project produced Leaving Certificate student Aoife Cronin’s second play “The Puppetmaster” in November. Following on from the out- standing success of “she.” in 2018, “The Puppetmaster” was performed to large crowds on two evenings. Well done to all involved in a student-led production, with the play raising funds for the Gary Kelly Coláiste na hInse First Year Girls' Soccer Team Cancer Centre. The Lady Gregory Project will now focus on their next production, The Unmanage- able Sisters, in January. The play is both hilarious and poignant, promising to be a fantastic evening’s entertainment. Di- rected by Sean Loughrey and produced by Aimee Crilly and Eve White, consider it a great stocking filler! Tickets are available on droichead.com Soccer The CNI Under 19 Ladies’ Soccer team were unfortunate to lose narrowly away to Loreto Balbriggan in December. It was a very encouraging performance from a young team that promises much for the future. The Under 15 cailíní fared better in a thrilling victory in very wet and windy conditions in Kells. Well done to their coaches, Kelly and Nicole from idirbh- liain. The First Year team followed their cue in securing a comprehensive win in the first round of the cup.© January 2020 The Meath Coaster 11 league matches against both Skerries and Dunshaughlin. The semi-final pits them against Boyne C.C., offering a quick opportunity to make up for the cup exit. The First Year Boys’ team were defeated in the first round of the cup by a strong Dunboyne team. CNI Has Talent on Wonderful Evening Congratulations to all our contestants who performed in CNI's Got Talent just before the mid-term break. The standard was exceptionally high and a wonderfully jam packed evening of entertainment was provided. Our judges had a tough decision to make but awarded first place to 1 st year dancer, Erdvile Rimkute. Erdvile gave an incredible performance that wowed the judges and audience. Second place went The Puppetmaster Played to a Full House on Both Nights to 3 rd year student, Lara Hughes and 2 nd year student, Robert Philips. Lara and Robert sang and played a beautiful origi- nal song, 'No More' written by Lara. Third place went to 3 rd year student, Jennifer Sheil. Jennifer stunned the audience and judges with her solo violin performance. No Cash Being Accepted by School Canteen After Christmas A reminder to all parents and dáltaí that the school canteen will be switching to cashless payment when we return to school after Christmas. All you need to do is get a TFW Canteen Card and set up your account online. This allows for easy top-ups and for parents to monitor what is being bought at the canteen. §© January 2020 The Meath Coaster 14 The Stamullen Roundup By Grace Tierney H appy New Year - may 2020 be kind to you and yours!
