This is your chance to win a KIA Stonic for just €10. An absolutely must win prize. This is our major fundraiser for 2019 and all funds raised go towards our infrastructure projects (extra lands, clubhouse rede- velopments and improved facilities). If every single member of the club buys and sells just one ticket then we will be well on our way to achieving our ambitions. We need YOUR support and we appeal to EVERYONE in our club and community to get behind the drive and ensure that we build top class facilities for the next gen- eration. Please please support by taking an allocation of tickets and selling among friends, neighbours, work colleagues etc. Let’s make the dream happen Hurling Round Up It has been a busy month as the hurling season draws to a close. With the chang- ing weather our Monday hurling academy has wrapped up but the games come thick and fast. The U15 Saints (Combination with St Patricks) have had an excellent campaign just narrowly missing out on the knock out stages whilst the u13s with two games to come v Killyon and Ash- bourne are on course to make the Roinn C semi-finals later this month. Keep an eye on next month’s Coaster to check in on their progress Our new hurling t-shirts - “Caman the Cilles” are available to purchase in the clubhouse Minor Football Championships Both our minor boys teams are well pro- gressed in their respective championships. The Division 4 boys have had an outstand- ing campaign and are into the semi-finals now v Dunderry. With one round to go the Division 1 boys sit top of their group with a 100% record and now face a home © October 2019 The Meath Coaster 61 game v Ratoath who must win to force a playoff. That promises to be a classic encounter on Saturday 12 th October with a possible double header for the Division 4 semi-final. All support needed. The minor girls teams commence their campaign on the weekend of the 5 th and 6 th of October with two teams in action. Keep an eye on social media and www. cilles.com to stay up to date with all ac- tivities Schools Football Our Schools calendar is now up and run- ning. The first of the school blitzes took place on Friday 27 th September and well done to all involved. We will see you again next month. Best of luck to all the schools teams who are in Cumman na mBunscoil action at the moment September Boys Festivals Of Football We had a very busy September with our football festivals taking place from u8 through to U12. A huge amount of ef- fort went into these events and a special thanks is due to all who supported and who helped out in any way possible. Without this volunteer spirit we would not have the superb club that we do. You are a credit to your club and community. We are looking forward to 2020 already. A spe- cial word however for the u10 event. The festival had its 20 th staging this year and it was wonderful to see a bumper attendance and everyone involved Adult Championships Hard luck to our Junior C ladies team who lost out to Clonard in the Championship semi-final. It was a wonderful campaign © October 2019 The Meath Coaster 62 for the team and they can look forward to 2020 with real confidence. Our Jun- ior D men’s team have also made their semi-final and hopes are high that they can go one step further this year and make the final. Well done to everyone ! Con- gratulations too to the senior men’s team who secured survival in the senior foot- ball championship with a hard fought win over Rathkenny. A huge crowd came out to cheer the club on and that augurs well for the future. Well done everyone Lotto Our club lotto is the lifeblood of the club and funds our day to day running costs. For just €2 you can have the chance to take part in what is surely the most won lotto in the country with 3 winners already in 2019. Lotto tickets are available from our three main outlets – Southgate Shopping Centre (Fridays), Tesco Bettystown (Sat- urdays) and the SHANE BLACK PROP- ERTY ADVISERS Academy on Sundays. The lotto can be played online at www. cilles.com or in the clubhouse our local shops and hostelries. All funds raised go towards our day to day running costs Meath Coaching Team Visit To Piltown Earlier this year we reported on how the Meath u20 squad had visited Piltown and Seafield for their Championship trainign camp. On a dank and miserable 15 th September night Andy McEntee and A busy month of action ahead so make sure to get out and support your club © October 2019 The Meath Coaster 63 Colm Nally of the Meath Senior Man- agement team take the Junior D men for a trainign session. A top secret behind closed doors session ensued as the lads were put through their paces in advance of their semi-final. Well done to the team mentors, Jack Black and Neil Cooney for organising it – The lads made a successful bid at a recent charity auction and donated the session to the boys in advice of their semi-final. Our thanks to Andy and Colm who made the evening a very memorable one Ladies All Ireland Final Visit Well done to the 150 or so Cilles players and supporters who travelled en masse to Croke Park for the All Ireland Ladies fi- nals recently. A special mention to Greg McDonald for organising the event now in its 5 th year. Greg really is adept and meticulous in his planning for this event. Hard luck to the Meath Ladies who lost out in the final for a second year in a row. No doubt they will be back soon and hopefully with some of our young stars on the pitch Hands For Life We were delighted to organise the Hands for Life training for the local community recently. The event that was supported by local community groups provided training in life saving techniques such as CPR and Choking. A special word to Mark Gal- lagher who was the brainchild of the op- eration and the Healthy Club committee Outreach Programme The Autumn programme is up and run- ning with cards, Irish classes, ballroom dancing etc. all on offer at Piltown.
