Kevin was a great friend to our club and an absolute gentleman. He was an All-Ireland Meath Medal winner in 1954 and he will be sadly missed by us all in St.Pat’s. We offer our sincere condolences to his wife and family at this sad time. Senior Teams 2 nd of June the A League Division 2 played at home and had a great win - St.Pats 4-15 vs Carnaross 1-06 16 th June the Pat’s had another great win St.Patrick’s 0-19 St.Colmcilles 0-15 Minor Team On 25 th June the Minor League had their first match in quite a while and although started off slow they went on to win St.Pat’s 2-10 Kilmainhamwood 1-07 Senior Hurlers 11 th June the hurlers played at home to Ratoath and had a great win – St.Pat’s 2-15 Ratoath 1-10 Senior Ladies On 20 th June after a break for exams the ladies took on Simonstown in a league match and had a great win St.Pat’s 4-15 Simonstown 2-05. Camogie 2019 The camogie team is going from strength to strength and have played some great matches so far. They are always looking for new members and training is on Mon- day evening from 7-8pm. All new mem- bers welcome. Under 14 Girls Football The girls played in Division 1 league semi-final and unfortunately it was not to be the girls day against Walterstown on the 4 th of June. The Division 1 girls went on to win the Shield Final in Dunganny on the 9 th of June beating Navan O’Mahonys 4-02 St.Pat’s 4-04 The Division 6 girls also went on to win the Shield Final on the same day making it a double for the under 14s and beating Slane 3-02 St.Pat’s 1-09 Well done to Megan Gifford who repre- sented Club and County in the 2019 Féile na nÓg Skillstar competition. She did us proud! Under 14 Boys Football 11 th June the boys took on Skryne in the division 2 semi final and had a great win St.Pat’s 4-06 Skryne 3-08. 19 th June was the final against St.Peters and unfortunately this wasn’t to be the boys day. They did us proud and played well but the final score was St.Pats 1-09 St.Peters 3-08. Under 12 Boys football Hugh congratulations to our amazing un-© July 2019 The Meath Coaster 61 der 12s who in their first competitive sea- son they defeated NaFianna on the 22 nd June and won their two team league. Well done boys! Camps for the Summer months We are running an Advanced Summer Camp for young ladies with coaches Carla Rowe, Oonagh Whyte and St.Pat’s GPO Aileen Coyle. It runs from 7 th -9 th of Au- gust from 9:30am to 12:30pm at a cost of 60 euro per person and 45 euro per sub- sequent player. Our very popular Kellogs Cúl Camps are also filling up fast and need to be booked on-line as soon as possible to guarantee a place. The football camp is the week of the 8 th of July while the hurling camp is from the 29 th of July. Senior Hurling Team had a great win against Ratoath© July 2019 The Meath Coaster 62 Bingo News The bingo in the club- house is proving to be a great success. There is great at- mosphere and prizes to be won and every- one, young and old is welcome. Bingo every Sunday in the St.Pat’s Clubhouse at 8pm. Coffee Shop Our very popular coffee shop is now open every Wednesday from 630pm un- til 830pm and on a Saturday morning. So why not have a cuppa and a chat with other parents while the kids are training. Club Lotto The lotto is run every week and is a big part of keeping the club running so we would really encourage as many as pos- sible join in every week. Tickets can be bought at reception in the club, Whytes, Centra etc or any committee member would be more than happy to help. Here's a look back at the highs and lows of June. Apologies in advance for anything that we may have missed. Another Lotto Winner Last month we reported on Denise's won- derful lotto win and only two short weeks later we celebrated another winner as the big prize went to Joe Cremin. A tremen- dous supporter for the club down through the years Joe was a popular winner pur- chasing his ticket at Tesco Bettystown. Don’t miss out on your chance to win what must surely be the most won lotto prize locally by playing weekly. Our lotto sales team are now selling at Southgate (Friday's) and Tesco (Saturday's), and we thank both outlets for their support of our community focussed club. If you are able to support our sales team by giving 1 hour a week then please let us know U14 Boys Clean Sweep History was made last month as our three U14 boys teams achieved a clean sweep winning their respective league titles. The Reserve Group A team defeated Ratoath in the final at Stamullen whilst the Reserve Group B team retained the title by defeat- ed Seneschalstown in the final. The Yel- low Furze boys were also the opposition in the Division 1 final at Pairc Tailteann as a first ever 3 in a row of titles for the club were annexed. Whilst we have been lucky enough to win Division 1 and Re- serve league doubles in the past we have never won a treble and great credit is due to the squad. This was also the second year in a row that the three teams made the three finals. Well done to all the squad and mentors on this great achievement© July 2019 The Meath Coaster 64 Leinster Championship And Christy Ring Cup Mania So maybe the result didn’t go our way but we were so proud of the Meath squad and all our representatives on their run to the Leinster Football Championship final. James Conlon lit up the Leinster semi-final hitting 5 points from play in his first start whilst we had 3 starters in the final (Ben, Graham and James) - the highest represent- ed club on the starting 15 across both coun- ties. Well done to all our supporters who travelled in such numbers and had a super day despite the rain and the result. Here's hoping for a big response in the qualifiers . A big congrats too to Luke Morgan and John Maguire who shared the Leinster Football Final Score prediction prize Well done too to the Meath hurlers on winning the Christy Ring Cup. A great day was had by all the supporters from "the Saints" hurling teams Underage Round Up Most of the girls official competitions have finished for the summer but our "lit- tle ladies" teams are still very busy in their The Minor boys are back in action Well done to all who took part in the Meath Development Blitz© July 2019 The Meath Coaster 65 games. The girls are improving with very match and their skills are developing very quickly. Our boys "Go Games" teams are also in action with the final round scheduled for July 6 th . Good luck also to our Community Games team who are in Leinster Finals action this month Summer Camps Registration is now open for the Kellogg's Cúl Camps on www.kelloggsculcamps. gaa.ie We are holding two camps on 15 th - 19 th July and 19 th -23 rd August, We are a host venue for the camps and they are ad- ministered by the GAA. Therefore regis- tration must be undertaken via the official website only. Both camps are almost full so you should register as soon as possible We are running two "Club Camps" run by GPO Niall Kane. The first camp is for boys and girls aged 5-12 and runs from August 6 th to August 9 th . This camp will include football and hurling. We will also run a "Pre-School" Camp for children joining school in September. The camp runs from 14 th -16 th August and its objec- tive so to help make friends before start- ing school in September The Seaside Summary Edition 2 of our newsletter will be issu- ing later this month. It will look back on all the various activities over the last few months and looking forward to the autumn leagues. Thank you Shane for your support Adult Leagues It was back to league duties for our adult teams and the Division 2 and 5 ladies teams scored great wins v St Ultans and Seneschalstown respectively. Our adult men's team had a wonderful sequence of results to put themselves in contention for promotion from Division 2 but defeat to neighbours St Patricks in the final league game meant another year in Division2. These were occasions of great noise and colour and of course wonder- ful sport. Realt na Mara boys took home the Breaga Cup overcoming Gaelscoil an Bhradain Feasa in the final whilst in Paric Tailteann, Le Cheile made history win- ning a first title winning against Duleek BNS. St Patricks Girls took home Jimmy Curran Cup honours beating St Marys whilst Realt na Mara boys scored a double over Gaelscoil an Bhradain Feasa winning Our Leinster Championship winning girls proved a big hit at Piltown recently the Cooney Cup A huge thank you to all involved in the competitions, the coordinators, referees, clubs who provided venues, the participat- ing schools and of course the participants themselves. The sec- ond and third sessions with Jigsaw will be communicated through team managers this month but you should also keep an eye out on social media How Are You Feeling Today Field Trip The annual How are You feeling today trip took place on 12 th June visiting the Army Museum in the Curragh, the Japa- nese Gardens and National Stud.
