Trials for the team were held in Laytown Bettystown Tennis Club resulting in a team of 13 play-ers. Le Cheile entered the Mixed Division and competently won all their matches. Their place in the final was cemented with a morning of great tennis on 24th May se-curing their place in the final against Kilk-enny on at the end of the month. Fleadh Cheoil Le Chéile As we all know by now Drogheda has the great honour of hosting Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann this year in August. So the Fun-draising Committee and the staff came to-gether to organise our own Fleadh here at school. It was a magnificent summer day and we all assembled in the yard, which was festooned with bunting and decora-tions. The children dressed in their green finery, sang and danced, recited poetry and played instruments. There was ceol and craic enjoyed by all! Some members of staff played bodhrán and piano accordion and treated us to a display of Riverdance. It was a magical, memorable day for all and the children and their families col-lected sponsorship money to support the purchase of new resources for the school. We are all now ready and looking forward to the Fleadh in August.Le Chéile await final results of Droghe-da Schools Chess LeagueLe Chéile can proudly boast a superb Chess Club. Rehearsals got under way after Christmas, every Thursday after school. Parents, family, neighbours and friends enjoyed a music and dance filled evening in the school, as the children proudly presented the Le Chéile version of the well known and much loved musi-cal. All sets and props were designed and made by the children themselves, includ-ing the productions posters and tickets. §© July 2018 The Meath Coaster14Please mention The Meath Coaster when replying to advertisementsOur Cooney Cup Win!Bunscoil Buachaillí Réalt na Mara, DonacarneyOur Gaelic team have had an incred-ibly busy year with early morning training for lots of matches in both the Cumann na mBunscoil and Cooney Cup leagues. From academic excellence to sporting victories and a myriad of other activities we are constantly reminded of the dili-gence, tenacity and talents of our students. Many students were acknowledged dur-ing our junior, senior and transition year prize giving ceremonies held during the last week in May. The Graduation Mass was a truly memo-rable evening based on the theme The Light to find my Truth. There was won-derful artwork, musical celebrations and powerful words from our chaplain. We wish our sixth years all the very best, the school will not be quite the same with-out them. In Loreto, we are proud of each and every girl who contributes to school life, cre-ating the wonderful happy atmosphere which we all enjoy.
