MeathT: 086 1731739 E: pro.stpatricksmeath@gmail.comCalling on all local hurlersSt Patricks GAA are looking to field a hurling team for next year and we are looking for anyone in the area in-terested in playing with a local team to come down and join. We have had plenty of success over the last number of years, winning back to back championships as well as a league title in that time. We are now looking to kick start our adult hurl-ing team again and we are looking for anyone, of any ability, who would be in-terested in getting involved. If you think you would like to give it a go call Daithi on 0868886761 or drop into the club and leave your details with reception……..There will be tokens!!!White Collar boxingSaturday 21st of October saw our long-awaited launch night and it proved to be worth the wait. Our boxers were in-troduced individually by our MC on the night, Anto Woods and we saw a little taster on what we could expect on the night itself with a number of our fighters calling out potential opponents. It was a night full of music, dancing and even an impromptu singing performance. There are a limited number of tickets available for our big night so be sure to call down Nov17th © November 2017 The Meath Coaster51to the club and get yours and join us in the City North Hotel on the 17th of Novem-ber!!!Underage HurlingIt’s been a great month of hurling for the club with U7s putting it up to Kiltale early Saturday along with wins for U8s and 10s on vs cilles .The U9s were equal to the task against a physical Ratoath on a cold Thursday night and the u13 Pats/Cilles came out on top in a 7-11 to 3-15 league battle with the Wolfe Tones Saturday af-ternoon, that win puts the U113’s in the ¼ final for the first time. It's a real testament to the work that's go-ing into the hurling section of the club that we are now able to compete and beat some very strong hurling clubs across the county. The future is brightU15 boysOur U15’s continue to impress after a good win f V the old enemy Dunshaughlin. Goals won this game and with Peadar Tal-lon scoring 3 first half goals we led our opponents well at half time.St.Pats 4-03 Dunshaughlin 0-03Dunshaughlin started second half well scoring 1-01 without reply however Sean Flanaghans superb goal got the lads going again and won game well.St.Pats 7-05 Dunshaughlin 1-06St. Pat's U14s victorious in dramatic U14 FinalA big well done to our U14 boys on win-ning a fantastic division 4 final by beat-ing Inny Gaels by 3-7 to 2-9. Inny Gaels started the brighter and settled into the game early, scoring some fine points and a cracking goal. St. Pats struggled to find their rhythm and found themselves 1-05 v 0-02 down at half-time. The only scores coming from inspirational captain Sean Baxter and the industrious Duguid McDonagh. The team faced an uphill battle in the second half and showed su-perb character to drag themselves into the game thanks largely to goals from McDonagh and a sensational finish from Gareth Keogh. The game was level with 5 mins remaining when Killian O'Connor smashed in a loose ball to the net and the team found themselves 3 points clear with only a few mins remaining. Unfortu-nately, a late tackle warranted a red card but with their backs to the wall it looked like they had done enough to win despite being reduced to 14 men. Inny Gaels had © November 2017 The Meath Coaster52different ideas though and equalized with the last kick in injury time rifling the ball to the roof of the net. Extra time proved to be a real dog fight with the teams trading nly one point each in the first half of ex-tra time. In the second half it looked like whichever team managed to manufacture a score would claim the spoils and it was Jamie Murphy who delivered. Picking up a ball right on the stroke of full-time, young Murphy weaved round two players and calmly slotted over the winning score from 30 yards. A huge well done to the lads on the fantastic win. U13 boysOur U13s have proved to be just as im-pressive with some massive wins in the las month. First up came a massive 11-10 v 1-04 Summerhill but that wasn’t to be it, the lads followed that with a 8-8 to 1-9 win against Kells. There is some serious talent coming through our club which have a lot of people very excited for the future. U13 GirlsIts not just the boys who are impressing but the girls in our club have been equally as impressive with a great win over neigh-bours Duleek/Bellewstown. The girls fought like tigers today and once we got to the pitch of the game our team-work told out.Our defense (Lucy, Summer, Abigal, Kee-lin, Sinead, Lara) were under pressure from the start. Duleek dominated for the first 15 minutes with Duleek leading by 9 points(3:1) to 7 points(1:4). For the last 10 minutes of the first half, our midfield pairing of Ashing and Suzanna delivered the good quality ball our for-wards required and our forwards started to fire. Halftime came with the scoreline Pats 19 points(4:7) to Duleek 11 points(3:2).The second half started with the same in-tensity as the first half, it was not a game for the faint-hearted. This time our for-wards (Megan McCormac, Megan Stro-lia, Tori Foster, Abbigal Dungan, Becky Harney, Emma Ryan) took the game to Duleek taking great scores. Our defense put in a dogged display in the second half. The final score was Pats 30 points(7:9) with Duleek 16 points (4:4). Well done to everyone today, everyone played their part. That win puts your daughters top of Divi-sion 4 and into the Under 13 Division 4 County Final. The date is to be finalized but likely to be either Saturday, November 4th or Sunday, November 5th. I will advise when the date is confirmed. §© November 2017 The Meath Coaster53Cilles Athletic ClubReturn of The Santa Run!At 2pm, Saturday the 2nd of Dec, Bettystown Beach will be thronged with runners all getting into the Christ-mas spirit.
