Free and open to all (aged 13 to 103) the challenge is to write eve- ryday and target 50,000 words of a novel by the 30 th of November. There are loads of resources online and the Ireland North East region will host in- person writing sessions during the month to keep you writing. § I t’s that time of the year again, another start for BDLM Youth Club, hard to be- lieve it’s our 5 th year opening and we are still going strong. Hoping all our Members had a great sum- mer. Some have taken a big step into Sec- ondary School, we are sure you have all settled well and made many new friends. The Club is always full of fun activities to keep Members busy. Our annual outing this past year was an evening of Bowl- ing at Funtasia . We don’t know who had more fun, the Members or the Leaders! An Information Evening and Membership Registration for the New Year took place on Friday 13 th September, we were happy to see some familiar faces and many new faces as well. Carmel Ni Luanai collected a €400 voucher for Blacks garden centre after South Shore’s allocated horse, Loose Chippings, won the Gilna’s Cottage Inn Pride Of Place Maiden. A €200 garden centre voucher for Pat Stafford’s in Laytown was presented to Elaine Brennan, on behalf of Sli Ultan and a €100 voucher was collected by Paul Collier on behalf of Alverno Heights after the horses they were matched with came in second and third in the race. The winners can decide how to enhance the village with plants, flowers, trees, shrubbery or wildflowers.
