The services we currently provide are of- fice administration, maintenance, horticul- tural, landscaping, painting, care-taking and grounds-keepers. Our office is locat- ed at St.Colmcilles GAA Club Piltown. The areas that we cover are Laytown, Bettystown, Julianstown and Donacarney. In Laytown we support Sonairte, East Meath United FC, Laytown Pitch & Putt and Laytown Village Enhancement. In Julianstown we assistJulianstown Vil- lage Garden, Community Centre and the Church of Ireland. In Donacarney we support Donacarney Celtic FC and Donacarney Tidy Towns. In Bettystown we help Bettystown Tidy Towns and St Colmcilles GAA. Our participants come with a wide and varied skill set, and some are in need of experience and we provide training, men- toring, guidance and direction to assist in their employment development. The community employment scheme injects a total of €1 million into the local economy over the initial 3 year agreed period. Initial feedback is very positive and the scheme has already helped in building the community while at the same time allow- ing participants to gain valuable skills thus developing their CV for work opportunities. In Julianstown we are delighted to say that they have just achieved Green Flag Status for their Village Garden and Kevin Mullen, aparticipant in the scheme, has certainly contributed to this! The scheme to date have successfully placed 3 participants in full time employ- ment and are anxious to link in with local employers who are seeking trained employ- ees or who can provide work experience. Being able to avail of training and work placements while on Community Em- ployment is a great opportunity for any- one who is unemployed to go in a new di- rection and hopefully secure employment when their time on Community Employ- ment ends.
