MeathLe Chéile Educate Together National Schoolwww.lecheileetns.comLe Chéile Children form Guard of Honour at Presidential InaugurationThere was great excitement at Le Ché-ile ETNS following a phone call from the school’s inspector on behalf of the office of the Taoiseach inviting Le Ché-ile pupils to take part in the Presidential Inauguration on Sunday last at Dublin Castle. Ten children from 5th and 6th class, Aidan, Fiona O’Connell and Fiona Rock, attended. They formed a guard of honour at the red carpet as the President, Michael D. Higgins, exited the swearing in cer-emony while waving presidential flags. The President greeted them and stopped to shake hands and speak to among oth-ers, Aidan and Fiona Rock. An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar followed and shook hands and spoke to Fiona O’Connell when pass-ing. By his side was An Tánaiste, Simon Coveney who also spoke with a number of those present, including Fiona Rock. It was a wonderful memory in the making for all present. We wish our new president every success in his role.Maths Week Mania at Le Chéile Math’s mania descended on the classrooms of Le Chéile for this years annual Math’s Week. Across the school the children have been challenging themselves with all sorts of math’s puzzles, games and patterns. Junior Infants created their own patterns and challenged each other with addition problems. Whilst sec-ond class took part in the school-wide Maths Door com-petition with a theme of “Near Dou-bles Neigh-bours”.§www.kia.comExcludes delivery and related charges.
