We very much ap-preciate the donation! Our planters near the picnic tables have been planted with Pampas Grass which we think looks very well.We have once again cleaned up the main road from Laytown out as far as Sonairte. We are “pleased” to report that this time we only collected two bags full- excuse the sarcasm. We cannot understand why so much rubbish is thrown apparently out of the windows of passing cars, much less who the guilty parties think is responsible to clean up after them. We also found this morning that someone had carefully pack-aged a broken microwave oven and left it on the side of the road. A lot of it con-sists of disposable cups, wrappers from fast food outlets, the nearest of which is in Drogheda, so why wait until nearly in Laytown to dispose of the rubbish? There are plenty of litterbins around so this is to-tally unnecessary. We will be holding our National Spring Clean on Saturday 21st April, meeting as always at the Coast Tavern at 10amShould you wish to join in please come along. Perhaps you would like to join in by litter picking on the road where you live. That idea would be welcomed, and if you need any equipment to do this please let us know so that we can supply it.It is hoped to have National Spring Clean on Minnistown Road on Saturday 21st April. This project will be led by Philom-ena Mulligan. She asks that those taking part meet at the entrance to East Meath Football Club at 2pm. Julianstown will be holding their Spring Clean on Saturday 14th April. So there are plenty of clean ups to choose from.....take your pick! Come along to all three if you like!!
