< PreviousJanuary 2017 The Meath Coaster ©50On the PitchAll teams have now taken a well earned break for Christmas, be-fore regrouping again in January to pre-pare for summer soccer at the beginning of March. Most squads enjoyed a team bonding session before finishing up and then enjoyed a super day at our annual Christmas party. This was the first year the club decided to host it at Ministown, and with the Gods looking down on us, the weather was super. Great fun was had with plenty of games and food to enjoy, with a special visit from the main man himself, Santa. A massive thanks to all who came along to support the event, a very special thanks (again!) to Ruairdhi Hannigan for his efforts in not only organ-ising the event but actually constructing it too! Thanks to all our very generous sponsors, BTW Drogheda, Talent Select, Marathon Travel, Callaghans Butch-ers, Funtasia Bettystown, MS Transport, Umbro and Irish Ferries. Our raffle was a massive success and our Development Fund continues to grow!January 2017 The Meath Coaster ©51Sponsorship & Advertising OpportunitiesIf you would like to become a sponsor of the club or would like the opportunity to advertise at our pitches in Ministown, which sees hundreds of visitors weekly, please get in touch with the committee by email at @gmail.com, or have a chat with one of us anytime! § The coaches of EMU rolled back the years again when they took to the floodlit Astro at Ministown for our second Annual Man-ager’s Charity Match. There were thrills, laughs and no shortage of skills as the lads and lass helped raise a whopping €2025 for A Smile For Ryan, who was this year’s worthy local cause. Thanks so much to everyone who supported the event and to all the managers who braved the pitch! Club PRO and Director, Cllr Sharon To-lan was delighted to get the opportunity to present a cheque to Eoin O’Brien at our ‘EMU Christmas at Ministown’ event and we would like to take this opportunity to wish brave young Ryan and his family all the very best on their difficult journey.Red Card CaféThe Red Card Café continues to grow with further development planned for the new year! The facility has been a terrific addition to Ministown, providing heat, hot drinks and no shortage of entertainment to our members and our many visitors. A special thank you to Ruairdhi Hannigan for all his hard work and effort in turing what was a miserable dirty portacabin into the fabulous facility it is today! Also a special mention to Rebecca Gaffrey who keeps the place running like clock work and spic and span every weekend!Adam, Anto & Ivan serving up pulled pork baps & hot dogsRobbie, Rob, Mark & Sharon selling raffle ticketsSanta & his helpers Joanne & Janet with their little helpers Ewan and AlexJanuary 2017 The Meath Coaster ©52Happy New Year to all our members we hope you are all had a great Christ-mas and are well rested and ready to start back pre-season training in a week or two.
