MeathT: 086 1731739 E: pro.stpatricksmeath@gmail.comEST. 1950Senior footballThe seniors lie in 10th position in the league after 3 three games with de-feats to Donaughmore/Ashbourne and Summerhill and the sole victory coming against Seneschalstown recently. First up we faced champions Donaughmore/Ashbourne on a cold Saturday night in Ashbourne and after a slow start found ourselves 1-2 to 0-1 down after ten min-utes but the lads quickly came to grips with the game and started pulling the lead back. With Minutes to go we found our-selves 1 point ahead only for a pass to be intercepted by an Ashbourne player who worked the ball up the pitch for the kill-er goal. The result was hard to take but the performance was very pleasing. Next up was Summerhill and it was a case of goals wins games in this one with Sum-merhill running out 4-7 to 0-10 winners on a tough afternoon. We were soon back to winning ways against Seneschalstown, this despite losing two players to black card and injury in the opening 15 minutes. We found ourselves in control of the game before two quick goals from Seneschals-town and a red card for a pats player left us in a difficult situation but 5 unanswered points in the closing stages gave us a two point win with a score line of 1:12 to 2:7.The draw for the senior championship was made with Pats facing Skryne, Ratoath, Na Fianna, Dunboyne and Dunshaughlin.Junior footballThe juniors find themselves in 6th place in the league after 2 games with a win and a loss coming against Dunshaughlin and Dunboyne recently. Both games were tough hardworking games with the win Naomh Padraig GAA© April 2017 The Meath Coaster51against Dunshaughlin especially due to the hard working nature of the 2 point win. There has been some good fortunes for the junior side over the last 2 to 3 years and with more and more young players getting involves this, we hope , will continue. Next up for the lads are Do-naughmore/Ashbourne.U17 boysGreat start to U17 league away in Kil-cloon. We found ourselves 5 points down early on in the first half but managed to only be behind 2-5 to 1-5 at half time thanks to a brilliant penalty save from Dara Sullivan. We started off well in the second half overturning our 1 goal deficit to lead by a goal. However Jenkinstown responded and there was nothing between the sides until Sean Flanagan's superbly taken goal in the last few minutes to put the game to bed. Jenkinstown Gaels 4-08 St.Patrick's 4-11U10 Boys St Pats Boys U10s are back in training and began the new season with a skilful display in the opening round of the Go Games away to Donaughmore/Ashbourne last week. The full forward line was made up of Katie Dowling Han-nah Mannion and Jade Geraghty, so it was a great start to the season and a great way for the girls to mark international wom-en’s day with our first ever win since we went out as an independent team last year. Final Score St Pats 2-7 Dunboyne 0-11. Our U12’s have been positioned in divi-sion 1 for upcoming league, this is hugely impressive and a first for our ladies sec-tion but no Surprise as Dave McKeon and Phil Harney have been singing the praises of these girls for a long time now. Their © April 2017 The Meath Coaster53preseason build up has been quite impres-sive too beating numerous teams from di-vision 2 in their coarse taking some big scalps such as Walterstown Skyrne et.. Not to mention some well renowned Dub-lin teams as well. Our U14’s are going along nicely in their league plus they will representing St Pats in upcoming Féile competition so busy times ahead for the management team of Anthony Farrell & Mick O’Conner, our U16’s are also on a very good run and with the recent hard fought win over St Michel’s on Sunday 19th of March leaves Pat Mannion’s & Tom Burkes troops on the verge of qualification to the knockout stages of their league.Star Of The Sea A.C.
