Sending New Year Greetings from Cuan Na Réaltaí
In Cuan na Réaltaí 1, we have been busy making some lovely decorations to bring home to our families. We have also been joining in with the Advent prayer service every morning, and lighting the candles on our Advent Wreath. We’re all looking forward to celebrating Christmas, and seeing what Santa brings us. Happy Christmas everyone!
Ms Haigney’s Cuan na Réaltaí Class
My name is Kaitlyn and I am in Ms Haigney’s Cuan Class and Mr McCormack’s 3rd Class. I am 11 years old. I feel happy and excited in my class. Every day I do Maths, English and lots of reading. Each morning we do our exercise. We dance or we do a sensory circuit in the para-ed room. It makes me feel excited and ready for the day. Every Friday afternoon we do PE in the hall. We are doing relay races and basketball. It is great exercise and we laugh all the time.
We do lots of other subjects too, like SESE and SPHE. Last week we made a volcano in SESE! Then in SPHE we thought about good presents to give people, like a hug, taking care of them or a kiss. We also sometimes have The Cuan Spa, with hand baths, hand massages, hand cream, orbeez and lots of other nice sensory things. Some people like drawing as their Cuan Spa time!
In Aistear play we had The Vet, then The Cafe and now we have The Hairdressing Salon! We have fun in our classroom and outside too. I like doing races and singing with my friends in the yard.
On Fridays we do karaoke time. We wear sunglasses and hold microphones! It is exciting and even the adults like ‘Walking on Sunshine’ and ‘Reach up for the Stars’.
I am the handwriter of the month in my class. I did nice joined writing and Ms Haigney felt proud of my work. It is on the wall outside the office.
I like being in Cuan na Réaltaí because I do lots of work and I have friends in two classes. I feel lucky. Richella, Bobbie and Ms Haigney love our work and our fun!
