In other news…….
Having finished clearing the kerbs and paths at the small car park we turned our attention to the path at the top. We started doing the edges using shovels but, as you can see in the photos, the grass had grown over at least 8 inches of the path, so that would have taken a really long time!
We decided to invest in a motorised edger which meant that we got the whole project completed much faster. These photos show our new toy in action!
We spent three or four Saturdays and, as the weather was so nice, a few more visits on weekdays to get the job done and are really pleased with the finished article…..see below! The path has almost doubled in width!
We moved on to the promenade to clear the weeds from around the stone benches, along the railings and on the footpath. Hopefully growth will be slower over the next few months!
Our next plan is to do the edges of the roundabout by the playground, of course using our time-saving edger again!!
As always, please feel free to join in with us. We meet on Saturday mornings at 10am at the Coast Tavern. If you see us out working during the week and would like to take part you would be more than welcome!
We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hope to see you join us in the New Year!
