Our preparations for Christmas are well underway at Sacred Heart Church. Each weekend, we are lighting another candle on our Advent Wreath. The growing brightness from the candles counters the shorter days as we approach the Winter solstice. At the shortest days of the year, we celebrate the birth of the Child who appears as a radiant light in darkness. The Christmas narratives speak to us of the bright star that led the wise to Bethlehem, where they found Jesus. the Saviour, the Light of all Nations.
All going well, we will celebrate Christmas Masses at our usual times this year.
Christmas Eve: 5pm and 9pm
Christmas Day: 10am and 12noon
St. Stephen’s Day: 10am and 12noon
If restrictions on number who can attend are introduced we will, as in 2020, celebrate Masses leading up to Christmas Day also as Christmas themed Masses. Please consult our website www.sacredheartlaytown.com for updates as may be necessary.
We wish all our Parishioners and visitors a Blessed Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. §
