Naomh Padraig GAA – October 2021

All Ireland stars

It’s been an amazing few weeks for St. Pat’s Stamullen as not only did we have four players representing the club at inter county level but their respective teams made the final. Not only did both the minors and the Ladies make the final but they both won and our stars played a massive part in the success of the county teams. So congratulations to Sean, John, Oisin and Emma. You have done yourselves, your county, club and community very proud. The future looks bright in St. Pat’s Stamullen

Intermediate football

For the new management team of Ronan Kearns and Daithi White, the last few weeks have had plenty of ups and downs. While the championship is not going as well as we would have hoped, but our footballers have made it to the final of the Cor Na Boinne cup final. This is their first final in 9 years and at the time of writing they are preparing their final session before the final. There final session is an open session so all can attend. A great opportunity for our younger members to come and watch the first team in action while they prepare for the final.

Come on St.Pats

Minor Football

For the first time in a very long time, St Pats are playing in the division one minor A championship. So far they have played just the one game and even though they lost, they were fantastic. There was very little between the teams. At the time of writing, they are preparing for their second match against Dunboyne. Win and they are in excellent position to make the semifinals, lose and we are out. On paper, the odds are against us but we really believe we can turn them over but we need everyone playing their part. This is huge, not just for the team but for the whole club. This is Pats coming out of the wilderness at juvenile level and setting a tone for the great teams coming behind us at all underage levels. It also is a last championship for many of these young men before they cross the divide into adult football, a huge step that we badly need them to take.

Ladies junior footballers

St Pats travelled to Walterstown on Sunday evening 19th of September to take on the ladies from Walterstown in the 1st round of the Junior A Championship 2021.

It was the first time in a few years that these teams have met at Adult level, but we knew from the hard fought battles we had at under age level down through the years that this would be a strong test to open the 2021 Championship.

Some absolutely fantastic performances which was enough to get off to a great start in the Championship. Bring on round 2.

Come on St. Pat’s

Final Score St Pats 4-12 Walterstown 3-9.

Junior hurlers

Plenty of ups and downs for our adult hurlers this year. They have held their own in the league but narrowly lost out to a very strong kildalkey side to be denied a semi final spot in the championship. They have one game left which is at home to Rathmolyn. With some great players coming through all the time, I have no doubt that St. Pat’s will be a force to be reckoned with.

U15 hurlers

Our U15 Saints made it to two finals. They made the division 3 league final against Drumree at the end of August and The division 3 Feile final v Dunderry. Another successful year for this fantastic group of players. They showed some real class against a very capable Drumree side and showed that Hurling in East Meath is on the rise as they dispatched Drumree 4-8 to 2-6.

Unfortunately they couldn’t make it 2 final wins out of 2. Our u15s Saint’s met a extremely strong Dunderry today and were beaten 2-3 to 2-8.

Lads disappointed but like every great team they will be back stronger.

U14 Ladies

Our U14 ladies also made the final after some serious hard work and a lot of effort. They played Royal Gaels in the final but just came up short in the end. A fantastic achievement all the same. Well done to all the players and coaches. They will be back stronger next year
