Best of Luck Lads
As the underage section of the SSE Airtricity League is due to commence in June we thought it a good time to recognise that 5 players from last year’s Donacarney Celtic 2006 White team are about to embark on their first season in the League of Ireland U15 league. They are Sam Heaney, Cormac O’Donoghue, Alex Wade, Jamie Gamble and Jake Hough.
All players have been with local community clubs since the academy with Sam moving from Duleek to Donacarney at U12 and the other four lads have played all their football to date with the club. At club level the 2006 team achieved plenty of success and progressed to the semi-final of the SFAI Cup last year and winning both Regional and League titles over the years.
It is a first for the club to have 5 players from the one team and we are aware that all of this was done under the excellent coaching and dedication the team received from their coach Sean Brennan who coached the lads since the academy and who set them on the right path, and it is an excellent achievement for a coach to see players progress to the next level so well done Sean.
The club is super proud of you lads, and we would like to wish all 5 players the very best for their future and we look forward to following their football journey but remember you are always welcome back to Donacarney Celtic!
