End of the School Year
A most challenging school year ended with a range of positive, energising events across the school. Go raibh maith agaibh to our dáltaí for their perseverance and positivity throughout this year, and good luck to all of our Leaving Certificate students in their exams in June.
Sixth Year Gradam
Sixth Year Gradam took place in the school this year on Friday, May 21st. Whilst parents and family members were unable to attend, the event was live streamed for everyone watching at home. Well done to the Dearfachas team for organising this event and the Gradam Mór on Friday, May 28th.
Rang Bree Last Man Standing
After eight weeks of competition, Rang Bree’s Last Man Standing Competition whittled 145 entrants down to three winners, who will share the prize. Congratulations to Stuart Hitchcock, Megan Mooney and Sarah Grace Reilly!
Couch to 5k!
Coláiste na hInse second Couch to 5k programme finished with the now traditional five kilometre run on the beach. After six weeks of training three times a week, we were well prepared for the final run. It was heartening to see the returning dáltaí who are catching the running bug alongside the new runners completing the distance for the first time!
Spring Clean Raises Money for Parents’ Association
A huge thank you to everyone who donated old clothes as part of our Spring Clean clothes collection. €1278.75 was raised for much needed sports equipment. A massive thank you to our Parents’ Association for their incredible effort.
Volleyball Matches
The now traditional Sixth Year versus Múinteoirí matches took place again in the run-up to Gradam. The students had put in fantastic preparation and competed well.
Macari’s Cup
The lunchtime soccer tournaments organised by Idirbliain students continued through May, culminating in the Macari’s Cup final in the final week. Well done to the competition organisers and all of the teams on an unforgettable series of matches.
Idirbliain Workshops
Idirbliain dáltaí enjoyed a range of workshops in the last fortnight of the school year. Dáltaí were delighted to create their own songs with the aid of Stevie Darragh, while Twitter star Bernard Casey led workshops in comedy sketches. Rootine Hair also visited to teach hairstyles, while Nicola Winters from Sonairte also visited the school.
Idirbliain Sports Day
The Young Social Innovators class organised a Sports Day for Idirbliain to raise the spirit of their classmates after a difficult year. The craic was mighty, with much laughter across the day before Rang Fitzgerald emerged triumphant. The day ended well as dáltaí were refreshed by the ever-popular Koffee Kart.
Idirbliain Dáltaí Climb Ben Head
Idirbliain dáltaí took advantage of the good weather to appreciate our local beauty spots with a walk down the beach to climb Ben Head. The highlight was sitting in the sunshine to enjoy Meath’s best 99 ice creams (including scarce Flakes) outside Pat’s Supermarket.

Coláiste na hInse 3 year on the beach
The school year finished on a high with a series of events over the last week to bring a smile back to the school community, peaking in a visit from Dublin’s favourite ice cream company, Storm in a Teacup.
Jersey Day Raises Money for Sosad
Idirbliain dáltaí organised a jersey day for Sosad, raising over four hundred euros for the charity.
