St Colmcille’s C.L.G.

It has been one roller coaster year for everyone – highs and lows, joy and despair and that’s not even taking Covid into account.  We want to wish all our members, supporters, players and fans the very best for the Christmas season and we look forward to a bright, exciting and safe new year.  Thank you everyone for your support

Leinster Championship Campaign

There is no doubt about it but the GAA championships have lit up our winter and we all rejoiced in Meath’s run to the Leinster final.  Whilst final day was a huge disappointment the performance of our very own James Conlon in helping Meath to the final was exciting and inspiring to all.  Hard luck to all our Cilles contingent and thank you for your hard work and efforts –  James and Ben Brennan, Head of S&C – Niall Ronan and Coach, Colm Nally were all involved

AGM

Our AGM will take place on Monday 13th  Jan via Microsoft Teams.  Notices and details are  winging their way to all members

A big well done to our very own Sean Perry who took up sideline reporter duties with Sky Sports GAA and was his usual outstanding and insightful self

Another Wonderful Movember Campaign

A huge well done to all our November volunteers who once again worked tirelessly for the Gary Kelly Cancer Society.  As well as the traditional “Mo” the group also undertook a beach challenge and hosted talks by friend of the club, Dr Harry Barry and we had the pleasure of the inspirational Eoin Larkin, former Kilkenny hurler.  Eoin took us through his journey and opened up on his battle with depression

Sanitisation Stations – Thank You Budget Signs

A huge thanks to Audrey and Val Darcy at Budget Signs for their sponsorship of our new sanitisation stations. The team can be contacted at www.budgetsigns.ie or 087 633 9467 and their artwork and skills can be seen all over the work and we are so grateful for all their hard work and support.  We ask all our members to please support our sponsors

Lotto

Our club lotto funds day to day running costs and must be the one of most won lotto in the country.   We need your support in these times with all other fund raising sources drying up.     You can play online at www.cilles.com or subscribe for an annual ticket for €100 – if you are thinking of Christmas Gifts it would certainly be a winner

The jackpot is now €2,500 and historically a second winner follows very shortly after a big winner so make sure you are in with a chance

Please Support Local Business

As we come into the Christmas season we are asking all our members to purchase locally and to support all our sponsors as you do your Christmas Shopping.  This year above all others it is critical that we spend and stay local, supporting in particular all our sponsors

Shane Black Property Advisers Cul Cilles Academy

With the weather deteriorating and a need to rest our pitches for the 2021 campaign we brought the curtain down on the Shane Black Property Advisers Cul Cilles Academy this month.  Throughout the dark dark days of lockdown and level 5 the Cul Cilles Academy has shone like a beacon welcoming all our young players to our grounds and community .  Huge crowds and smiling faces, it was an uplifting joy to see.  Thank you to our sponsor, Shane Black, to all the parents and guardians and a special thank you to our Cul Cilles whose faces and smiles brightened our days.  Something truly special

Enjoy the break everyone. Spring is only on the horizon

U10 Boys Special Visitor

The U10 boys had a special guest for their last get together of 2020 when they were visited by Meath’s James Conlon.  The lads were our top fundraisers in 2019 and we were delighted to have James visit the group and take part in an activity with them.  A very  special memory for the players (and James of course).  The lads clearly thought him a few tricks as he hit two points against Wicklow the following day
