Wordfoolery Wednesdays on LMFM Radio
Regular “Meath Coaster” columnist for Stamullen, Grace Tierney, has landed a monthly slot “Wordfoolery Wednesdays” on LMFM Radio (95.8fm, https://www.lmfm.ie/) with Sinéad Brassil talking about her passion – the history of words and phrases.
Grace, who has published two books on the subject – “Words The Sea Gave Us” and “How To Get Your Name In The Dictionary”, along with her long running blog, will be talking about newsworthy words, her word of the month, and any unusual words and phrases. The 14th of October episode featured macabre, eldritch, running amok (a rather gruesome history), feckless, doom-scrolling (apt these days), and the ship-wrecked local man who gave us the Beaufort Scale for weather. If you’ve a word geek on your gift list this year you can get Grace’s books via Amazon, Kindle, or even signed paperbacks posted direct from her. Check out https://wordfoolery.wordpress.com/my-books/ for all the details.
