Finals Run Down !

It was a very busy late September and early October as competitions came to a close and we were very lucky to take part in some great occasions.  On the boys/men’s front we reported on the Men’s Premier and U13 Boys title wins and they were followed into action by the Minor, U15 and U13 Roinn G and J teams who all gave us great joy and pleasure.   Hard luck to our Minor Division 1 and U15 Division 1 teams who narrowly lost their Championship finals in two huge occasions.  Both teams carried the heavy burden of favourites into the finals and whilst it was not to be they did us all so proud and we can look forward to the future with great excitement.   Our Minor Division 3 boys Shield final was postponed twice within a week due a bereavement and subsequently a COVID issue with the opposition.  The late notice on these was extremely frustrating and an emotional rollercoaster for the boys.  However they shook off their frustration shortly afterwards, claiming a great win over Championship conquerors St Marys and reach the Division 3 league final.  Our U13 Roinn G and J teams also did us so proud reaching the league finals which due to COVID restrictions were played at opposition venues (Syddan and Moynalty).  Two wonderful performances ultimately fell narrowly short against much older and bigger opponents.  All in all an outstanding month and well done to all

Not to be outdone our ladies teams were also on the final trail.  A huge well done to the U16 Division 3 girls and u12 girls on winning their finals v Blackhall and Seneschalstown last month.  Two exciting finals were the order of the day and what a thriller we had with the u16 final under the lights at Piltown winning on the score line of 5-9 to 4-9 whilst the u12 final was also a clinker as we overcame a very strong Senscehstown team.- two wins that were just rewards for their hard work  A very big well done too to the u12 Division 1 (North) team who also reached their final but went down narrowly to a strong St Patricks in Stamullen.  No doubt their day will come soon and they will have the luck that their hard work deserves

Apologies if we missed any team – if we have let us know and we will get it noted for next month

Score Of The Weekend

Whilst disappointment was our lot in the Minor Championship final there was some solace as Christian Finlay won the PMC Physiotherapy score of the weekend competition for his superb strike v Dunshaughlin in the final.  Well done Christian on the award and thanks to all who voted !

Gaelic4dads Support Rape Crisis Centre (North East)

A big well done to our Gaelic4Dads team who recently supported the Rape Crisis Centre with their 10KM run and Tour De Meath Cycle.  The lads were interviewed on Meath Daily TV and you should check out the interview on Social Media.  Well done everyone on this great work

Gaelic 4 Dads squad
A huge effort by the Gaelic 4 Dads squad who completed their Tour De Meath challenge in aid of the Rape Crisis Centre

Its Movember Again

We are again supporting the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre this year with sponsorship moving online and the spinathon being replaced by a (combined 100KM) beach run.  Kilkenny Hurler Eoin Larkin will join us by Zoom to discuss his hurling experiences whilst Dr Harry Barry will also join us doing the month.  Keep an eye on all coach communications and social media as to where you can donate

Lotto Winner

Our club lotto funds day to day running costs and must be the one of most won lotto in the country.   We need your support in these times with all other fund raising sources drying up.     You can play online at www.cilles.com or subscribe for an annual ticket for €100 – if you are thinking of Christmas Gifts it would certainly be a winner

Lotto winner Carmel Saul
Our Club Lotto winner, Carmel Saul received her winning cheque this month. Carmel is pictured receiving her prize from our Lotto sponsors, Jimmy Gilna and Tom Behan of the COTTAGE INN and Academy Sponsor Shane Black of Shane Black Property Advisers

The jackpot is now €2,500 and historically a second winner follows very shortly after a big winner so make sure you are in with a chance
