Mid Term Mayhem in Donacarney Boys School
Ghosts and ghouls, witches and wizards descended on Donacarney Boys School recently. It was all in the spirit of fun and celebration of course. The mid term break had arrived and pupils and staff alike had reason to welcome it.
It has been a busy few weeks. And even busier before the school children returned of course with all the new measures being implemented to keep the school in top notch order.
Classrooms have been reconfigured to maximize social distancing. Thanks to our enhanced cleaning protocols and brilliant cleaning team Claire Keenan, Pat Black and Brian Mullen the school is gleaming.

Handwashing protocols are followed by everyone and sanitizing stations are located all around the school. We’re especially grateful that we already have a very modern school building with optimal heating and ventilation systems in place, high ceilings and plenty of outdoor play space including a garden and also an outdoor classroom. This has made keeping the new hygiene and social distancing protocols a whole lot easier.
The new Junior Infants are delighted with their new school and were really delighted to join in all of the fun of dressing up before the mid term break.
They joined an assortment of ghouls, monsters, cartoon characters and even an Irish Mammy with her wooden spoon!
It’s been a very busy few weeks but Donacarney Boys School. Our school community have been fantastic for supporting us in staying open safely. We’ve learnt a lot about the rules and protocols which keep us safe and are glad to be back together again.
We’re also planning ahead is looking forward to September 2021 already! We’re open for enrolments in some of our senior classes next year and of course for our Junior Infants of Sept 2021. All enquiries to our school office on office@donacarneyschool.ie
