We are delighted to report that during September our volunteer numbers….from four to eight! We busied ourselves around the village, continuing with tidying the edgings.
We are currently working on the carpark opposite Aldi, straightening the edging and removing weeds from the footpaths.
This will take a few weeks to complete, so if you feel like joining in even just once or twice we would welcome your help.
As you can see here we have two of our new volunteers working on this project, Dave from Inse Bay and Joey from Laytown Village.
We are delighted to see Liz from Inse Bay back working with us! She has been keeping herself busy clearing the kerbs and the footpaths in the centre of the village.
Her work has really made a difference to the overall look of the place!
Lasst, but by no means least, our fourth new volunteer is Mairead. Mairead has been focussing on weeding and generally tidying our planters.
This was a job that badly needed doing so we are very grateful for her hard work!
As always, our own Volunteer of the Year, James Ellis, has been keeping busy working for our Tidy Towns group. James keeps the grass
cut nicely on the approach road to Laytown. He recently repainted the “Welcome” and “Slan” planter, restoring it to it’s former glory!
Don’t forget, if you have any suggestions about work you think needs to be done around the village we would love to hear them!
Also, volunteering with the group does not mean you need to commit every Saturday! If you’d just like to come along every now and again that’s
perfectly alright! We meet at the Coast Tavern at 10am on Saturday and we’d love to see you!
