Christmas at Réalt Na Mara G.N.S.
In spite of the restrictions we had a blessed and fun Christmas in our school this year while staying safe. There was daily lighting of the Advent candles as we prayed and prepared for the celebration of Christ’s coming at Christmas. Thanks to Richella for arranging our beautiful Advent wreath which greeted us in the entrance hall every morning. There was music and festive fun every day, thanks to Ms. De Bruyn. Classrooms were filled with joy as teachers practised their Christmas songs to send home to parents via the new See Saw app. This certainly was not easy with all the safe singing and spacing rules this year, but once again our fabulous teachers did an amazing job! On Thursday morning there was a loud cheer in the corridors as the children heard the jingling of bells with Santa’s unexpected arrival at the front door! You certainly can’t beat Santa! He had great news for the children as he told them they were all on Santa’s good list! Smells of hot chocolate wafted through the air from Ms Colgan’s classroom as children forgot for a moment the fear of the virus and instead sipped the sweet hot drink in a safe and happy place, that is school.
Santa talking to the children in Ms. Campbell’s Class Ms. Trench’s Class are very excited by this special visit from Santa

In Mrs De Bruyn’s class we made salt dough ornaments for our Christmas trees. The girls had great fun making and decorating the ornaments!
We had lots of festive fun in our school this week. We loved dancing to the Christmas music, figuring out where the santa was hiding, and answering the Christmas quiz questions. Happy Christmas everyone!
