Stu-dents, Inion Ní Chuinneagáin and Máistir Reilly met host of The Late Late Show, Ryan Tubridy, and also heard SVP Na-tional President Kieran Stafford state, “Irish society cannot and must not accept that living in, or on the verge of, poverty is normal.” In the run-up to Christmas the SVP Annual Appeal message this year is “Christmas is not the same for every-one.” For details on how to contribute to CNI’s Christmas Appeal on behalf of SVP, please visit the school website, co-laistenahinse.ieGaeilge 24 I gColáiste na hInse!Ghlac go leor muinteoir agus daltaí páirte i Gaeilge 24 sa Choláiste ar an gceathrú lá de mhí na Samhna.D’éirigh linn €1500 a thabhairt isteach ar mhaithe le heagraíochtaí Gaeilge fud fad na tíre. At junior level our pupils con-tinue to shine in the UCD Junior Schools’ Competition and as we reach the end of the preliminary rounds it looks like we are going to have a number of daltaí in the quarter finals. Last weekend also saw a fantastic achievement in the All Ireland Junior Debating National Mace Com-petition when second year Mark Hanley and third year Peter Phelan qualified for the final of the largest preliminary round in Belvedere College. As this competi-tion moves on to the Leinster Finals after Christmas, it looks like the Coláiste could have as many as six competitors qualify. Finally at senior level we have had a num-ber of significant achievements. Sixth year Medb Brereton Hurley recently won her regional heat of the All Ireland So-roptimist Public Speaking competition. Eoghan Boland qualified for the regional final of the Rotary Youth Leadership com-petition. And Eoghan, Aoife Walker and Saoirse O’Donnell have all qualified for the Leinster Quarter Finals of the All Ire-land Debating competition.Billy ElliotRehearsals continue for our 10 year An-niversary Musical, Billy Elliot.
